The My Nintendo loyalty program is about to get a sweet new perk.

Starting in “early March,” you’ll be able to redeem My Nintendo Gold Points for Switch games and downloadable content, Nintendo announced today.

“My Nintendo members already earn Gold Points by buying qualifying games,” the company wrote in its announcement. “Soon they’ll be able to redeem Gold Points for eligible digital games and content for the Nintendo Switch system, too.”

Here’s how it works: Every time you buy a qualifying game for Nintendo Switch, Wii U, or Nintendo 3DS, you’ll earn Gold Points worth 5 percent of the amount you paid for a digital version or 1 percent of what you paid for a physical copy (not including any points or discounts used). You can then cash in those Gold Points the next time you purchase an eligible Switch game or DLC from the Nintendo eShop or Nintendo.com.

You can also still redeem your points for existing Wii U and Nintendo 3DS rewards.

Keep in mind that Gold Points are valid for one year. So, if you earned them in March 2017, you’ll have until the end of this March to use them before they expire.

Anyone with a Nintendo Account can join My Nintendo for free. Besides purchasing games, you can earn My Nintendo points by using Nintendo apps like Super Mario Run or Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp on your smartphone and signing into Nintendo services like the eShop. You’ll also get a special discount during your birthday month.

Meanwhile, speaking of smartphones, Nintendo last week announced it is developing a new mobile game based on Mario Kart. Dubbed Mario Kart Tour, the new mobile app is slated to arrive at some point “in the fiscal year ending in March 2019,” the company announced on Twitter.
