Zoho Campaigns has become a force with which to be reckoned in email marketing.

When we initially reviewed Zoho Campaigns, we found the email marketing tool to be efficient and affordable but stuck in an archaic design. This design not only made the tool less enjoyable to use but it also made creating email campaigns more difficult than necessary. Unlike Editors’ Choice services Campaigner and MailChimp, Zoho Campaigns lacked the drag-and-drop content creation, colorful dashboards, and abundance of template options to compete with the big dogs of the email marketing industry.

Today, Zoho Campaigns looks entirely different. The tool recently underwent a rethink that not only makes it look and feel nicer, but actually changed how the tool is used, what it’s designed to do, and how messages display for the end user. Oh, and it has a new logo, too.

“Zoho Campaigns is a complete UI [user interface] revamp that pretty much made creating email campaigns fairly easy,” said Raju Vegesna, Chief Evangelist at Zoho. “A lot of email campaign builders are evolving into marketing automation platforms. When you do that, you’re trying to do two different things and merge them into one and that complicates things. We’ve split the product into two. We’ll be launching marketing automation later in the year because we want Campaigns to focus on email campaigns strictly.”

Vegesna refused to elaborate on how the upcoming marketing automation tool will look and feel. Zoho did, however, provide us with a demo of Zoho Campaigns. In this article, we’ll walk you through the new tool’s most important upgrades.
