Man Utd news: Marouane Fellaini has made this demand to club… will he get it? | Football | Sport

Fellaini is out of contract at the end of the season and he has been offered a new and improved deal to keep him at Old Trafford.

But the Daily Star understand Fellaini is not impressed with the terms being offered and he has turned it down.

Fellaini is currently on £100,000-a-week and has been offered a slight increase but he he wants more.

United boss Jose Mourinho is keen for Fellaini to stay and he will not sanction the sale of the midfielder in the January transfer window.

The Special One hopes a compromise can be struck between now and the New Year but, as it stands, Fellaini could be in his last season at United.

The club do not hold any options to trigger an automatic extension, meaning the 29-year-old will be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with someone else in January.

Rules state players can speak to other clubs six months before their deal expires.

The relationship between Fellaini and Mourinho is a positive one. The Belgian man mountain has emerged as a key member of the Manchester United squad since the Portuguese took charge in 2016.

But Fellaini’s issue is with club chiefs, who he has left been frustrated by at the lack of a deal being done.
