Barcelona news: Liverpool furious with latest Philippe Coutinho transfer offer | Football | Sport

Barcelona repeatedly tried to sign Coutinho in the summer, with Liverpool snubbing three offers for the Brazil international.

And, despite missing out on their No1 target, the La Liga giants are set to renew their interest in Coutinho when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.

However, Spanish publication Don Balon claim Liverpool have been left furious with Barcelona’s latest offer.

It is said they have proposed a deal that could see flop signing Andre Gomes make the move to Merseyside.

The Portugal international arrived from Valencia in 2016, billed as a potential heir to club legend Xavi.

But Gomes has endured a torrid time at the Nou Camp, with fans turning on the player during Luis Enrique’s time in charge.

Don Balon say Liverpool do not want Gomes to make the move to Anfield, particular as it would mean Coutinho going in the opposite direction.

However, a swap deal is not to be ruled out.

Barcelona want to lessen Coutinho’s transfer fee with Liverpool currently valuing the playmaker at £132million.

And, as a result, Ernesto Valverde may include one of three players in any transfer bid.

Rafinha could make the move with injuries plaguing the Brazilian’s time in Catalonia.

And Aleix Vidal and Arda Turan could also be involved.

Vidal looks likelier to rejoin Sevilla but may be tempted to pursue a new challenge in the Premier League.

Turan, meanwhile, is digging his heels in with Barcelona so far unable to get the Turkey international off their books.
